Quickie #1
Hang up framed photos instead of displaying them on surfaces. It frees up space, and it is less to move when you are cleaning.
Quickie #2
Use pieces of furniture that do double duty. Great examples are trunks for coffee tables and small chests of drawers as end tables or bedside tables.
Quickie #3
Magazine racks are clutter magnets. Use magazine file boxes instead. They are available at office supply stores or home decor shops. Allow yourself to fill them only to their maximum, then you need to purge the old ones.
Quickie #4
Plastic storage towers are a great and portable way to store kids craft supplies. Put a different category of supplies into each drawer and label the drawer. The tower of drawers is on wheels, so it can be easily rolled close to the table when it is craft time.
Quickie #5
Colour code your bath & shower towels – a different colour for each member of the family. Everyone can quickly spot their own and is responsible to make sure it is hung up after each use. If your bathroom is small, maybe you want to even take it a step further and have each person hang their own towel on a hook on the back of their bedroom door after each use.
Quickie #6
Get in the habit of a daily swish & swipe. Once a day wet the corner of the hand towel in the bathroom and use it to swipe clean the sink, counter and taps. There will always be an opportunity for more thorough cleaning, but it’s ok if it isn’t today 😉
“I choose to surrender my anxiety and my sense of urgency. I will allow God to guide me in the pacing of my life. I choose to open my heart to God’s timing. I release my deadlines, agendas and striving to the gentle yet often swift pacing of God. As I choose to open my heart to God’s unfoldings, my heart attains peace. As I relax into God’s timing, my heart contains comfort.” – Julia Cameron
